It goes without saying, that the best birth outcome, is one is which there is a healthy baby resting in a healthy mother's arms. However, I believe, to the very core of myself, that there is another component that is possible, deserved and needed. A healthy family that has an amazing and informed birth experience. It is the right of the birthing family to have both! Birth is a transforming experience and I want to help women find their voice to have THEIR birth. A birth where they want it, when they want it and how they want it- armed with evidence based information so that when they are faced with decisions, they can make them with the security of knowledge. If you are looking for a way to prepare yourself for an upcoming birth or your first few months as a parent, let me help! I am a Childbirth Educator, certified through Childbirth International. I believe that evidence based information helps families become empowered, not only during their births but in the variety of decisions they will face as parents.
Women remember the births of their children forever. They can share the stories of their experiences with such rich, vivid detail, as if it happened yesterday. It is a journey, the days leading up to meeting one's child, a journey full of discovery, work and a reward beyond measure. Give yourself and your child the gift of an empowed and euphoric experience.
Birth does not have to be scary, it does not need to cause suffering, it is powerful, and it is work, but most great things we do, are.
I offer a few different types of classes focusing on topics of the Childbearing Year-
Childbirth Preparation (including the post-partum period)
Breastfeeding
New Grandparent workshops to familiarize new grandparents with birth choices of today.
