Childbirth Preparation Series-
This series of meetings will cover topics ranging from communication with your healthcare providers to preparing for your upcoming birth.  We will discuss the different stages of labor and strategies and ideas for working with this normal and beautiful process.  Several relaxation techniques to utilize during labor will be practiced.  We will discuss a variety of options available to the birthing family and form birth plans to aide in your communication with your birth team.  This group is a "hands-on" learning experience with plenty of time for discussing the questions and feelings of the birthing family.  We will also focus time on the amazing yet delicate Post-partum period and will dedicate time to learning some Breastfeeding techniques.  This is a 6 week series (plus a reunion meeting)- one evening per week.  I do teach these classes in the Camas/Washougal area, and like to maximize our time by keeping the groups to 5 couples or less.  This class is ideal for women in the end of the second trimester-third.  Single Moms also Welcome!

Cost covers class and materials -$150 for the series.  (Cost includes the Breastfeeding Class)
Private Classes also available- $60 per 3 hour class. Childbirth Preparation, Breastfeeding and Newborn Care typically takes 4 classes.  The Breastfeeding and Newborn Class is 4 hours long. (Topics arranged on individual need)

Breastfeeding and Postpartum
Spend some time discussing the importance of your child's best source of nutrition and comfort!  We will work on techniques to get breastfeeding off to a great start and what to do if questions arise!  This is a very important class for families wanting to explore the breastfeeding relationship in the family.  Although women in any tri-mester of pregnancy are welcome, later second trimester through the third trimester may benefit the most.  Breastfeeding in the first minutes of your babies life is important- be ready and comfortable by knowing what to expect! We will also spend time covering Newborn care as well as nurturing the Postpartum Mother.  Partners/Support People Welcome!  Private or group classes available!

Grandparents of Today
If you find yourself thinking, "We didn't do it this way!"  you are not alone.  The options in birth are changing and I offer a workshop for Grandparents to familiarize themselves with the options that may be presented to their sons and daughters.  Spend some time preparing for your new Grandchild and get to know others doing the same!  We will spend time discussing the normal aspects of labor, birth and the Postpartum period.  We will also review newborn safety to create a welcoming environment for your newest family member.
